Experience Rewards
Experience is gained by defeating enemies in City of Heroes, much like many other role-playing games. Leveling up has many benefits, though there are two ways in which your level increases: Combat Level and Security Level. Your CL goes up automatically when you have gained enough experience to reach a new level; this grants you more hitpoints, better damage, and a better chance to hit enemies (in that you are now even level with higher level enemies). To get your SL though, you must train at one of the several trainers around the city.

Following is a table of the rewards of training up your character's security level.

*The third power in a pool cannot be chosen until you've picked either the first or second power in the pool. The fourth power in the pool cannot be chosen until you've picked at least 2 other powers in the pool.
