You must have been going out a long time or really be in love because you don't even care anymore. By now, you've cut your game play down dramatically. She demands that the two of you spend more quality time together. Yeah, right . like wasting another evening watching reality television show reruns. As she gawks, laughs and points at game show guest dupes, she has you programmed to get her a beer whenever she snaps her fingers. The whip has cracked. You do what you're told, but in a daze. You're preoccupied with what's going on "in-game" that moment. When you return to the sofa to massage her feet (like she told you), you gather up the courage to ask her how can she watch such trash. She say's it's because she's so fascinated with relationships . power relationships. Face it, you're a masochistic. Once you accept this fact you shouldn't have any problem being her in-game mule.
Get Some Action
So, she's the boss? Why not give her the opportunity to prove it? Whatever game you start, make sure you "help" her set up a character in some sort of tank class. Try a warrior in World of Warcraft and Everquest II, an orc fighter in Lineage II, or a galka in FFXI. Sure, she'll end up telling you what to do. But that's what you're used to, no? And think on the bright side. At least you'll get to play, even if you're reduced to dueling with someone convinced she's your better half.
Keeping things in Balance
You and your girlfriend can't agree on who is "more equal" than the other? Find out by going head-to-head in a leveling match in World of Warcraft or Everquest II. Handicap her with a good power-leveling in City of Heroes to see what she's made of down on the streets of Paragon City. All truth will be revealed during her trial by fire, and hopefully, restoration of your male ego. If that's too easy for her, tease her into trying a more difficult race/class combo that would boost your chances for survival and increase your experience points when you fight as a team. Once you get that competitive streak going in her, it could be hard to tear her away from playing PvP on her own.
