After the Fall
Icarus Studios soars to new heights with Fallen Earth
With Exclusive Screenshots!
One of the more interesting, and possibly more appealing, aspects of Fallen Earth is its use of genetic manipulation and mutation.
The storyline describes an explosion of commercial competition for genetic "applications" before the Fall. Some of that technology is still discoverable.
Gamers will soon find how genetic manipulation plays a fascinating role in player advancement, not only increasing your abilities and power but also establishing your individuality and status.
While Fallen Earth maintains most of the basic RPG elements, it will also sport some of the best features of a First Person Shooter. With the ability to play in both First Person and Third Person, combat modes very quickly.
Unlike other MMORPG's, Fallen Earth does not use classes to define players' abilities. Instead, players will be awarded allocation points (AP) to bump up whatever abilities they choose. The game is all about defining yourself on your own terms, unrestricted. One important aspect of this self-definition is the faction system.
The game will allow players to join socio-political factions that best meet their play style, skills, and
personal philosophies.
The Enforcers, for example, appeal to military types who may want to strive for an orderly, disciplined approach to rebuilding civilization.
While the game focuses on PvE and uncovering the mysteries of the world, PvP will also be available in select areas for players looking for a little more mano-a-mano.
All in all, in a market saturated by fantasy MMORPG's, it is refreshing to see a developer like Icarus finally think out of the box and try a new approach.
Gamers have been waiting a long time for a high quality, AAA, post-apocalyptic MMO.
From what we have seen, they will not be disappointed with Fallen Earth. From amazing graphics to a compelling back story, this game really packs an undeniable punch.
Fallen Earth is already well into development. We hope to see more of Fallen Earth at this year's E3 in May, perhaps at AEGIA's booth.
