Codemasters' Community Liaison Officer Kyle "Laeth" Rowley on RF Online

LQGaming Services:: For players of other games thinking of picking up RF Online, what would you say is the
biggest thing current players like?

Kyle "Laeth" Rowley: The obvious feature that current players really enjoy is the PvP battles that take place. They are some of the largest battles to take place in any MMO, and it really is something that players
have to take part in to fully appreciate. Every 8 hours there are large-scale
battles that take place between the 3 rivaling factions in an area called the Crag Mine. Players battle
it out for control of this Crag Mine and the wealth that controlling the Crag Mine brings.

Besides that, players seem to enjoy the whole community experience throughout the game. Each faction has its own unique community, and players feel like they play an important role in their faction's success.

Oh, and don't forget being able to play as some awesome looking Cyborgs, some pretty attractive Cora ladies and some kick ass Mechanical Assault Units!

LQGaming Services:: What should we be looking forward to in the future for RF Online?

Kyle "Laeth" Rowley: So here comes some juicy information. At the moment we are in Episode 1, and are currently playing with the Giga3 update live on our servers. We are expecting out FIRST part of the Giga4/Final update sometime in May, which will be placed onto our test server ready to be tested by out internal QA team.

At the moment we are unable to say when exactly the content will go live or what part of the Giga Update we are planning to release, but it's looking very promising.

Giga4/Final brings a fair bit of new content to the game, including 24 new battle dungeons that change in difficulty dependant on your level, 'Dark Hole' which is a multi zoned battle dungeon with 12 different stages, Guild vs Guild instanced battles, Guild town sieges, new high level content for levels 45+ in an area called Elan Plateu, a whole new sports game called Circle Zone Scramble and much much more!

We will be releasing more information on the different parts of Giga4/Final when we get closer to their release later this year.

Do you think you'll ever get too old for video gaming?

Absolutely, we all have to grow up sometime.

Maybe, when real life demands more of my time.

No way, video gaming will always be an entertainment option for me.

Never, I'm looking forward to pwning my grandkids.

I don't know

Anyway!
