Greater Faydark

«« Back to City Zone Highlights Main

Beloved woods of Greater Faydark is the home of Wood Elves and High Elves. Two cities lie within its borders:

Felwithe

Kelethin

Felwithe

Home of the High Elves. Its prestigious architecture is known by many. Primarily home to those of the holy and arcane ways of living, the high elves that come from this city are considered some of the most disciplined of all in their chosen path.

Here lies one of the beginning cities that characters once began their EverQuest experience in.
Kelethin

Home to Wood Elves and the few Half Elves raised within the elven culture, this tree city was founded after disaster struck the coast of Northern Ro, causing massive sand waves to cover their original home. After given safe passage from the dwarves that dwell within the Butcherblock Mountains, the wood elves set forth to rebuild their lives and created what is now fondly visited and widely known as the tree city of Norrath.

The Wood Elves now spend much of their time trying to keep back the forces of Orc who also came across the lands to form camp crushbone, just outside the borders of the city of Kelethin. It is said that the Orc King converts with an evil dark elf and plans to chop down the glorious trees of Tunare that support the city of Kelethin.

Here lies one of the beginning cities that characters once began their EverQuest experience in.

Creatures of Greater Faydark

Bats

Some of the first creatures that many fight will be bats, skeletons, rats, and other low level creatures. Sylvan bats are a constant critter to flit around the entirety of Greater Faydark. They generally peaceful creatures, unless provoked. These creatures range from level 1 to 4 and characters as high as level 6 can gain experience by killing these.
Forest Drakes and Drakelings

With a sudden upsurge of evil, came new creatures to all lands. Included was the coming of the forest drakeling. This beautiful creature is harmless to those who are just passing by, but when attacked, can cause serious damage to those who are not prepared. Much like many creatures, when confronted, their bite is more powerful than many might suspect. Regardless, these creatures are in the lower levels of difficulty, and with proper preparation, any beginning character will be able to take one on.

Arborean Sprout

A small Treant-like creature, the Arborean Sprouts wander throughout the Faydark, but mostly near Kelethin. Unlike their big brothers and sisters the Arborean Elders and Saplings, the Sprouts only range up to about level 5 and give no faction hits. They are peaceful but highly sought after for their quest components, the bark and twigs are useful for certain low level armor quests.

Wasps

Buzzing around the Faydark since before the time of the Elves, the Wasps fly around going about their own business in the forest. While quite large, they are perfect targets for low-level adventurers. The Drones can be defeated by any level but stop giving experience by around level 4. The jelly they drop is edible, the poison sacks on the other hand, are not quite so edible.

Skeleton

Your standard undead baddie. You'll find Skeletons throughout Norrath and the other lands of Everquest, but none quite so tame as the decaying skeletons in Greater Faydark. It's not uncommon to find rusty weapons or cloth armors from them. The bone chips that they drop are used in Necromancy and Shadowknight spells to summon pets.

Wolves

These can be beaten by any level adventurer and give experience up until about level 4 or 5. The Black Wolves in the Greater Faydark are considered animals of course, and this makes them vulnerable to certain Druidic spells such as "Fear Animal" and some charms. The pelts that they drop range in "Low", "Medium", and "High" quality and are useful in tailoring.

Pixies

The Pixie Tricksters are only one or two levels higher than the wasps and black wolves in the Greater Faydark and aren't much of a challenge. It's the angry Pixies in the Lesser Faydark that give more trouble. Common loots from Pixies include Pixie Dust (of course). The Dust is useful for a few things, mainly mid-level Baking recipies. For this reason, they are sought after by tradeskillers more than adventurers.

Clan Crushbone Orcs

The greatest threat in the Greater Faydark. There are different Orcs throughout the forest, and you'll find more and more as you draw closer to Crushbone in the North. Their levels range all the way from 1 (Orc Pawns) to 65, so be wary of any camps you see. Orcs of Clan Crushbone are famous for dropping Crushbone Belts which are better used for quests than they are for protection.
