| Kaladim Home of the Dwarves of Butcherblock. Its stone sculpured landscapes and structures are a very visual display of the works that you can find created by none other than the hands of a dwarf. Here lies one of the beginning cities that characters once began their EverQuest experience in. | ![]() |
| Bats Some of the first creatures that many fight will be bats, skeletons, rats, and other low level creatures. Bats are a constant critter to flit around the entirety of the Butcherblock Mountains. They are generally peaceful creatures, unless provoked. These creatures range from level 1 to 4 and characters as high as level 6 can gain experience by killing these. | ![]() |
| Goblins Creatures of mischief, goblins are one of the incredible characters that you'll find griping at you from the moment you set foot into the Butcherblock Mountains. These creatures range in all different levels, and come in 2 different species. The lower level goblins that you'll find roaming around the front gates of Kaladim are run of the mill goblins, but the ones that should be looked out for would be the aqua goblins which are found roaming around the docks, and charging through the dwarven guards. | ![]() |
| Krag These little bird men are the general nuisance of Kaladim, and most specifically the paladins who go after these guys for one main, and somewhat amusing reason: Krag like to play around with their statue of King Kazon Stormhammer. You can find these guys roaming the hills directly outside of Kaladim. If you're a lower level character, do be careful. Even though most of them roaming around are chicks, they have quite a punch. | ![]() |
| Skarab Skarabs roam the hills of Butcherblock mountains, snapping their jaws at everything as it passes by. These oversized cockroach beasties are highly hunted for thier carpaces. Loot 2 perfect ones, and return to a dwarf at the front doors of the warriors guild, to be given one of the best breastplates for lower level characters. | ![]() |
| Skeleton Your standard undead baddie. You'll find Skeletons throughout Norrath and the other lands of Everquest, but none quite so tame as the decaying skeletons in Greater Faydark and Butcherblock. It's not uncommon to find rusty weapons or cloth armors from them. The bone chips that they drop are used in Necromancy and Shadowknight spells to summon pets. | ![]() |
| Skunk These fuzzy creatures were new to Butcherblock shortly before the LDoN expansion released. These creatures are similar to the common rats that you hunt throughout many of the other newbie zones throughout Norrath. These creatures can put a stench on you that will lower make your charisma go down considerably. Some have claimed that items that normally sell for several silver, were only selling for a few copper, due to the stench being on them. Don't try to do any transactions while being infected w/ the stench of skunk. | ![]() |
| Snake These little slithering creatures bite with a venomous sting, literally! If you don't die by the end of the battle, hope that your health is high enough that the poison can run through your system without killing you off. These guys have been known to do odd things in battle, including the mysterious snake kick that nobody has figured out exactly how a snake could have an ability to kick. Characters level 1-6 can gain decent experience from these guys, and the loot of skins, fangs, and sometimes eggs make a happy jingle in any new player's coin purse. | ![]() |
| Spiders These spiders are a little more scarce than in other zones that have spiders roaming around, but the loot is something that a lot are looking for. Spiderling silk is an always sought after item for many characters, as it creates some of the best crafted items. The spiderling legs are a great seller for lower level characters. These spiders are also part of the newbie armor quests. | ![]() |
