In the years following the Age of Turmoil, there was a long period of natural disasters and climatic changes known as the Age of Cataclysms.
In the next 500 years of EverQuest live, leading up to the time period of EverQuest 2, the people of Antonica (or the people of Norrath, for that matter), were all about getting the crap kicked out of them. Everything that could have gone wrong, *did* go wrong. Not to mention the event of Luclin blowing up, throwing a lovely shower of deadly rocks onto the face of Norrath, causing Antonica to break up into several pieces.
The once proud races of Norrath were shattered. Old towns were destroyed and cultures crushed. Only the two human cities of Qeynos and Freeport were mysteriously spared during the explosion of Luclin. What this means and how much of a role it will play for the future of Norrath is yet to be seen.
