Raid Info for Rognog the Angler

Rognog the Angler
Level 52 Epic X4

Instance Timer	6 Days
Location	The Cove of Decay: Epic Angler
Special Attacks	Crushing, single target knockback
Immunities	Crushing
Notes	When you zone into Rognog the Anglers Instance at the Cove of Decay entrance, you will notice there are 3 distinct groups of mobs in the zone. Rognog the Angler is unattackable at this time. Another group, aggro immediately, is the swarm of fish, on the land nearby the angler. The last is crabs wandering the beach.
Sample Tactic	The raid should be placed nearby the camp fire on the beach. The MT will pull the swarm of fish - unleash the DPS on these - they should go down quickly. (picture1) As soon as the fish are dead the crabs will attack, the MT should taunt these, burn them down just like you did the fish. When the crabs are defeated, Rognog will attack, at this time you have to be aware that he has a single target knockback attack that will send the tank flying across the zone if he doesnt have something to stop him. The MT should back up into one of the leanto's, or against the zone wall near the camp. Once you've got the mob positioned and aggro in control unleash the DPS on him. When he gets to 50% health, he will despawn and then respawn instantaneously. The MT will have to reestablish aggro with him, then you can procede to burn him down, he won't reset again.

This guide seems to be made for the pre-revamp version of the angler. Here are the biggest things of note Rognog now starts attacking you along with the crabs as soon as the fish have died you no longer can use tactics to med up between the crabs and Rognog. The second time Rognog spawns he is level 54 vs 52 the first time and is MUCH harder.

Is he immune to all crushing or just non legendary crushing weapons

Immune to all Crushing and also resists Piercing too. Use Slashing

This seems to have chnanged the fish need to be engaged and killed in the water or the encounter will break. Make sure all of your raid are in the water. Once they are dead run to the usual position to kill angler.

When raiding the angler always be sure that all fighters have their slashing weapons equipped also note that he spawns as various classes so be prepared for it.

If your MT is in the water he wont use his knockback. It can be confusing for some fighting in the water but it saves having to run cross-zone to rejoin the raid.

Have done this raid 3 times in the last 3 weeks each time Rognog has spawned as a Troubie...so mental resists for your MT wouldnt go astray. Also once he resets he seems to have a thing for healers be wary if doing this with only 2 healers...
