GuildWizard: Tell us a little bit about your guild, The Lost Tribe, one of our Featured Guilds on GuildWizard! Your website is located at: http://losttribe.guildwizard.com.
TLT: Things are going great with our guild! My guild name is Baiyne and I'm the guild leader for The Lost Tribe. We have a lot of members hitting end game level. We're working overtime gearing up for mass world PvP. For those of you who don't know what mass world PvP is, it is basically anyone at any point fighting each other; no instance restrictions.
GuildWizard: Before I ask more about your guild specifically, why did you choose GuildWizard LQGaming as your guild's hosting service?
TLT: At one point we were pretty low on cash in developing a proper guild site and only had a few other people in the guild. I was looking for a good quality site that would allow me to try the service free at first before I dish out money. I did a google and found ya'll. Luckily, I haven't had to look back since then back in June of last year.
The design of our site was chosen quite simply because we are pirates! Don't get us wrong, we're nice people, we help our members out. We we're originally going to create the entire site in HTML and all that fancy programming required in creating a custom site, but we've decided to stick with the default editing you guys do to see how far we could push the service.
GuildWizard: Pirates! Not too many MMOs out there that directly incorporate this theme. As far as I know World of Warcraft doesn't have a specific pirate theme, so why did you choose such a unique identity?
TLT: We were spawned from a guild that was running on the Bloodscalp server. The leader left and I was the only one to really keep the guild together at that point. I took my butt to Darkspear immediately and recreated the same type of theme, which was pirates, a mercenary type of thing. It was homage to our old dying creed, plus who the hell doesn't like pirates?! I mean come on now, really?!
GuildWizard: What are the top three things that excite you about World of Warcraft and your guild the most? Why are they so important to your guild and what do you hope to benefit from them?
TLT: That's a tough question! I like the aspects of the way WoW is setup for all members to have a hands on approach to lead and mold their guilds, and that actually goes hand-in-hand with the GuildWizard Service.
The ease of motion in getting members into the endgame is pretty nice to, so we're spending months upon months getting guys to level up just to take part in what we have in store for them.
I'd have to say the last thing that excites me as a guild leader is what we have on our horizon; a lot of skirmishes are planned for the alliance. It's been slow going, but we're taking it one step at a time. We want to do this right and not leave any problems along the way, so we're building a solid guild foundation within the game. We have a lot of guys who are getting PvP ranked in the top 500 players on our server of over 15,000 players. That excites us! Now, we are not the best, but we're going to make 'em bleed if they wanna crack at us!
GuildWizard: What is unique about the server you chose and why you chose it?
TLT: Our server is Darkspear PvP, Horde side. There are a few different types of servers. PvP, which is pretty cold blooded no'holds bar, "I'll eat you for breakfast and make a soup bowl from your remains" kind of server mentality. Very cutthroat. we had a lot to prove coming to this server and we're doing exactly that.
GuildWizard: Since this is a PvP server your guild raids regularly, as anyone who views your event calendar will see. Which raids does your guild currently like to run?
TLT: We're doing a lot of Scholomance runs, BG runs, weekly world PvP runs like Boat-Hijackings, and even Stratholme and Blackrock Spire. Some guys are doing Molten Core (the opitamy of "togetherness" needs to be achieved to try this instance), Zul'Gurub too but we're needing a lot of help with that one cause it's very hard.
We're managing and learning but could use some advice if anyone has some! Onyxia hasn't happened for us yet, but we plan to. That's more of a "fluff" instance in our opinion.
GuildWizard: How do you use the tools and features provided by the game for your guild communications?
TLT: There is an honor ranking system on Worldofwarcraft.com that allows you to check the standings weekly per every Tuesday on each server. As far as guilds on the official site, there really is no set way of tracking them, but there is a service out there called Warcraftrealms.com that does track fairly accurately what guilds are pulling what as far as rank numbers and such.
Also, the official site does have an option if you have some of your guild members on the ranks in the top 2000 players, it will bunch them all together. It's a feature that needs a lot of work though to flesh out. Statistics overall are pretty accurate, albeit a bit slow to refresh but you become patient ;).
GuildWizard: World of Warcraft is one of the larger MMOs out there currently, and thus has a lot of players to support. You mentioned some of the website statistics features provided for guild reference, but what are some of the things guilds and yours in particular looks forward to in-game?
TLT: There is some very nice tools in-game, although there still is a lot that I wish could be implemented. You get all the basics such as tracking which guild members are online, easily adding and removing them, etc. You see their basic rank statistics and can contact them with a couple clicks of the mouse.
What could be implemented though are more provisions that can be provided per rank. It would also be nice if they allowed you to give special privileges to one person versus a whole rank. The whole rank restriction is kind of irritating.
GuildWizard: Is there anything else about your guild that you'd like to talk about, something that the guild community might find interesting, or perhaps something your guild did or discovered in the guild that is unique?
TLT: We have a nice screenshot of our latest inter guild Scholo runs. It's not that spectacular but cool none the less. Check out our site at http://lostribe.guildwizard.com to see it in our gallery. Other than that you've pretty much got the jist of the exciting lifestyle of The Lost Tribe. As a result of the site and the game and the inclusion of Teamspeak to our guild all our members have all become really close.
We're all planning a huge barbeque drink fest this summer in Denver Colorado. We have members coming from all walks of the world out to this thing. As far as in game, nothing really unique is planned. We are just taking progression one day at a time and don't want to overlook anything. Oh and we got t-shirts made! We're cool like that.
GuildWizard: Will you be attending the next Blizzcon?
TLT: Someone will, watch for the t-shirts!
GuildWizard: As a last question, if your guild were able to pick the new expansion, what theme would it have?
TLT: I'm pretty happy with the current theme of the new one coming out in a few months, as I'm sure everyone else is. However, Blood Elves as the new horde race, COME ON NOW!!! WE DONT WANT FRILLY LIL TREE HUGGERS!!! Give us goblins dude!! Draenor looks promising.
GuildWizard: Thank you Baiyne and everyone from The Lost Tribe for participating in this interview! Keep up the great guild!
