Member Profile Navigation
Most of the walkthroughs here in our GuildWizard Development Guide center around the adminstrators and assist in developing and maintaining their guild sites. This walkthrough is uniquely different in that we'll begin here by collecting key guides on how to better assist the members of a guild in managing their accounts.
Keep in mind that many of your account settings may still be controlled by the guild leader, so if there is something you want adjusted and can't seem to do it yourself please ask your guild leader before e-mailing tech support for assistance.
Accessing Your Profile
It can be somewhat tricky to access your user profile if the guild leader has not set up a direct link on the main page nor has set you in the roster yet. We'll walk you first briefly through the roster entrance to your profile, and then show you a direct way to access it.
A) Roster Profile Access
This is easy in that you simply need to look for a "Roster", "Members" or other similarly labeled image button or link on your main page that your guild leader has setup. This is your key to viewing all those who are a part of your guild. This page details roster names, character levels, race, class, and other important information.
1) After you've located this page you must find you name among the list. This should automatically be alphabetized by default so even if you have a large guild it shouldn't be hard to locate your name.
2) Once you've located your name click on the name (it should be underlined, indicating a link) where another page will open up with your profile information. Voila, you've now found your profile and a link at the top of this profile to make adjustments! We'll go through editing your profile below.
B) Direct Profile Access
In case your guild leader has not setup a direct link to your profile there is another way to access it.
1) Type in the following link in your URL entry box in your browser:
http://test1234.guildwizard.com/player.aspx?pid=
2) Do NOT hit enter!
3) after the = sign enter your "PID, which stands for "Player Indentification Number". Each player has a unique number that is given to them when the user is created. If you do not know your PID please ask your guild leader.
4) Hit enter! You will be directed to your profile page.
Navigating Your Profile
The two key areas to configuring and updating your profile are the two top links, which are appropriately labeled "Configure" and "Update Profile". When viewing another users profile you will see "Update Profile", which will take you to your own profile, but you will not see the "Configure" option.
The rest of the elements in the highlighted box are fairly self explanatory. The bottom half pertains to important raid information, so if your guild runs raids regularly and you participate you may want to ask them about this information. We will update this guide at a later date on each of these areas.
"Configure"
This option let's you personally adjust who has access to your profile and which areas within your profile are viewable. For instance, if you want everyone in your guild to view your profile but would like to restrict visitors from viewing your raid information, you would select each of the specific buttons to "Member" and the top one which is indicated as "Whole Page Permission" to the setting "Everyone".
"Update Profile"
This section briefly describes each of the areas you are able to adjust your profile to. Some of them may or may not pertain to your specific game, so please ignore those that do not. In future upgrades we will be customizing this interface more towards the specific game your guild selects. Please read the directions within this page for additional information.
Choose Your Class: Select the class for your character based on your game
Enter Secondary Class: Some games provide more detailed class trees. Use this secondary drop-down if available.
Enter Your Level: Current level of your character
Enter Your Total AA Points: Achievement Award points (only for EQ guilds!)
Enter Your Race: Select the race for your character based on your game
Choose Your Gender: M/F?
Picture URL: Upload a customized avatar for visual recognition of your character!
Magelo Profile Link: Use http://www.magelo.com for this entry box, or leave blank.
Email Address: Your accounts e-mail address
Alternate Character Listing: See the "To add/edit/delete alternate characters CLICK HERE" link below to add characters.
The open box at the bottom is your character's "history" or "background" for all you roleplayers, otherwise just enter in additional character information as you see fit.
Lastly, the Submit button at the bottom allows you to save any changes. To go back and adjust characters in the future to update their levels and whatnot simply click on the "Update Profile" link again to get back to this page.
