Custom Pages

Custom Pages

Another control you can create for your guild site are custom pages. This can be the key to really creating a unique website through its content abilities. Creating a custom page is simply adding whatever content you want on a page-wide scale that fits into your site and its template.

For instance, the page you are viewing right now in this walkthrough is technically a custom page. I can add whatever information or objects I want within the borders of the menus and banner you see around it. You can even add colored text! That is a very basic custom page option but one that is available.

Some of the things you would use custom pages for:

- General guild information
- Custom rosters
- Guild charter
- Guild rankings
- Community links
- and more!...

So, how do we add these custom pages? We will show you how to add them, but you must be the one to enter in whatever information you want into them. Knowing HTML code on a basic level will assist you greatly in this, but even plain text is sufficient.

1) Click on your "Admin Pages" menu link
2) Select "Control Editor" to access creating a control
3) In the control type menu drop-down, select "HTML Container"
4) Enter in the control ID (The name of your custom page)

5) The content box is where you enter in everything you want for this page, such as plain text, HTML code, image links, URL links, etc. etc.

Please see our HTML Guidelines walkthrough section for an idea on how to spice up these custom pages a bit.

6) Once you are finished, click "Save". If you wish to make changes to any custom pages they are all listed in the "Existing Controls" menu at the bottom. Be sure not to create too many "rogue" custom pages, as there is currently no way to remove them! If you want to add another custom page and have one that is useless, edit this one instead.
