Crafting

Basics |

Finding Loot
Players can find all sorts of loot by hunting creatures in player versus mob areas, drops are semi-common. Higher level characters will want to play in the tougher areas as the equipment they can find has a much larger potential of delivering numerous crafting materials upon salvage.

Salvaging
Players can salvage their crafting materials from the loot dropped by creatures. Items of high quality will offer substantially more materials than run of the mill equipment used by everyone and their neighbors . The act of salvaging is done by using a portable 'salvaging tool', a wand of sorts that extracts materials from the selected item. Salvaged items can then be used to create equipment, the NPC crafter in town is the only character able to craft.

Crafting Requirements
In order to craft some interesting equipment, characters must possess a variety of items and depending on the quality of item wanting to be crafted, it might take a lengthy time to collect all the ingredients needed for the recipe. First of all, the character must have enough gold to pay the crafter for his time and service and secondly he will need to have the required crafting materials [in general, two materials are needed].

Crafted Item Property
Once an item is crafted, it becomes bound to the character and cannot be traded to an other player nor can it be sold to a vendor. That is why players who are actively involved in the economy trade crafting material rather than wearable items.

Item Customization
For a very minimal fee, characters can have an item customized for them. The end result is a much more effective weapon with a much higher damage output. Most players decide to go through this process as it gives them a substantial boost.

Equipment Dyes and remover
Characters can dye their armor a variety of colors by using 'dye' jugs. Players can mix dyes together to produce an assortment of appearances [equipment can be dyed more than one color by using the mixing technique]. Equipment can be returned to it's original default colored state by using the dye remover. [the dye is lost and cannot be retrieved]
