Parties

Forming Parties
Players almost always decide to join a group of other players in order to complete a quest. The benefit is derived from the efficiency of larger numbers when attempting a map. Not only will progress within the area be much faster, but with an increased pace of accomplishment characters will receive larger amounts of experience for time spent playing [due to the ability to kill more creatures and complete more areas within a shorter amount of time]. When participating in player-versus-player maps, a group is often required to join in on the fun, as many areas feature player number restrictions.

Note: Characters can enter all PvM maps without a group, but depending on their level and the area in question, it can be rather difficult and sometimes nearly impossible to accomplish.

Party Options
The party screen is always present on the right side of the screen and it depending on where the player is located it displays different information. When a character is lingering within an outpost, the menu defines which professions each member of the group is using. A character participating in either a PvP or PvM area will be able to see the health bar of each of his party members. This bar changes color if the character in question is being afflicted by damage over time attacks [ex: poison]. Players who are within a group and involved in a mission cannot leave the group and wander off on their own, the only option available to them if they wish to depart from the group is to exit from the mission and return to the outpost. On the other hand, characters who've yet to enter a mission [and are located in an outpost] have a few options at their disposal.

INVITE – Invite a player to your group
REMOVE – Removes an invitation [Group Leader Only]
ACCEPT – Accept an invitation and the character will join the group
JOIN – This can be used to either merge a group together or simply request joining the group
ENTER MISSION – A countdown commences and when it is finished, the team enters the map. [Group Leader Only]

Assist a player
Strategies are often crucial when participating in either PvP or PvM areas and one of the most basic tactic is focus fire. But within a chaotic scene, finding the correct target of which everyone seems to be attacking is often no simple feat. The assist feature improves upon all this, as any player can 'call' a target by holding ctrl and clicking the intended foe. Players will be alerted of which foe is to be attacked and they are able to target it by pressing the letter T.
Experience and Loot
A group of players attempting to complete a PvM map will obviously encounter many foes, all of which reward players with a substantial amount of experience upon their death. The received experience is not a fraction of the total, separated between the members. But rather, each player receives the amount given by the creature [this is dependant on the level of the creature versus the level of the player. A low level creature will not give any experience to a high level character] While loot is randomly assigned to members of the party, but items become available to all members 30 seconds after the original drop.
