Thursday March 9, 2006 - Entry 3: Reincarnation of Pain, Part II
Nobody at the Nolani gates expected to see a Prince Rurik running towards them from out of nowhere, and he looked quite panic, "OPEN THE GATES! The titans are nearing!"
Without question, the Ascalon Guards opened the gates to their royal leader, who rushed in and ran up the stairs, to a lever, which he pulled immediately. The gates closed with a loud *thump* as he jumped down to the first level where the gates were and began to command the soldiers. "Something is coming this way, our Krytan friend wants to prove himself by persuading the so-called titan to near the gates, and then fight it himself, it has a magic that weakens the air and making it hard to breath, we might be in more danger then we had ever faced, but this is no reason to back down."
He looked at the gates, and a tear falling down his eye, "its just I'm worried that somebody might die today."
The Necromancer stood before the Titan as if it was a pesky warthog, with his scepter at his side, he waited. The titan just looked at the man, and in its head, it thought that it might not be living if it wasn't running from it that was its mission, to clear away anything that is living. It did not move, it just stared on, hoping to gain some information from the figure's body.
"What? Can't tell if something is animated, I have often heard of Titans actually attacking tress, while the wind casts away the leaves." The Necromancer smiled, he was enjoying the fact he could ambush the creature no matter what. He looked down at his feet, "Well, look at that! I'm not a tree!"
The moment that Daldrath's head turned down, the Titan figured that this was a foe and shot its claw toward him, a hiss was heard from where a mouth should be, and struck nothing but the ground. The spot where the Necromancer was now occupied by the Titan's claw, it was stuck deeply and couldn't budge, the Titan was stuck.
"Oh, you stupid demon." A low voice was heard from behind the monster. "Always thinking that you can surprise your enemy with a single strike, and take them out with ease? I know I can not kill you myself, but then, neither can you."
The Titan roared with anger and pulled its claw, with the patch of ground and flung it at Daldrath, who was already gone from the spot before the giant piece of rock struck and crumbled into pieces. He laughed as he suddenly appeared from his side, "Well, let us see the damage I can inflict on such a.ingenious creature." he smiled as he aimed his scepter at the ground, "Oh yes, I will enjoy this very much, I don't get to do this very much." He began to mutter an incantation that was not English, and more into hisses and full of emotion. A green and dark aura began to form against his body and erupted from the scepter and onto the ground, it went about around the land, and the Titan remained in its position as it stared at the deathly haze. The fog moved around, as if sniffing for something, and stopped on a spot that was a distance away from the pair. Immediately it sunk into the ground, diving into cracks and disappeared, Daldrath began to laugh as a soft earthquake shook the ground where the haze disappeared. And then, a hand sprouted from the earth, it was white and was rotten to the very bone, it was human like, but it was surely not alive. The rest of it sprouted from the ground, and its image was horrifying. Some parts were still fresh, while others bled, and contained worms that clutched to the ribs of the undead minion. More sprouted behind the first one, and each was different from the last, even an undead Charr, with the hair still intact appeared among the army and stared at the Titan.
Daldrath put himself into a stance, one leg behind the front, and aimed his scepter at the undead, he began to hiss in the ancient language, but it was clear what he was saying:
"Death to the enemy and your soul shall be spared!"
They began to run towards the Titan, who finally thought that the Necromancer has done something and marched toward them, trying to grab each of them and tear them apart, then throwing them back. They still got up and reached for the creature.
"You know what I love about the undead? If they lose a limb, a leg, or even a head, they make the best soldier" Daldarth laughed as he stated. "Its just unfortunate they only last for so long."
The Titan groaned as its enemy moved again and again though it seemed they were dead from every attempt. It looked among the crowd and spotted the laughing Necromancer and charged toward him. Daldrath didn't expect the brain capacity of the creature to figure out the source and began to run, and hissed in his tongue to the undead to protect their master.
The Titan roared as it sought victory over the death of the Necromancer, and so was the thought of his victim, as he ran further towards the Nolani Gates.

"Why, its such a beautiful scenery Rurik." The cloaked man smiled as
he spotted Rurik looking in dismany at the ruins of Ascalon. "I think it
makes such a sweet touch, if you ask me"
Rurik turned and held his sword close to the man's neck, "I am bringing
you into Ascalon because your arts are forbidden in Kryta, I can slay
you right now if you make a comment."
"Augh, yes, you're angry at me? Rurik, this isn't your fault, oh no,
its your bloody father's fault. Trifling with doors, like you said." The
figured smiled as he removed his cloak to reveal a pale white face, and
a dark black scar running down his left eye all the way to his chin.
His hair was smooth and reached his forhead and was a dark black, as
well. "And you know it is my way to like such chaos, and feel the power
of death."
Rurik lowered his sword, and stared blankly at the Necromancer.
"Sometimes you make me wonder what is your allignment among us men."
"You must realize I am not a man anymore, Rurik, but more of the
underside of a dead priest."
The prince laughed as he heard the statement, "You're sometimes
humorous, Daldrath." He said with a gesture.
Suddenly, a sound was heard, it was faint, but they could both hear it,
it sounded like some kind of stampede heading over. Daldrath hissed as
he took out his sceptre, and held the thin weapon within his hands,
"Chaaaaaarrrr."
They both stood silently, waiting for the group of beasts to show up,
when the air began to warm up. Rurik began to feel dehydrated as he
staggered around. "What, what is this magic."
Daldrath's eyes opened with intensity as he figured out what was going
on, "So it is true! There is a Titan travesing across Ascalon and is
hidden, no wonder Ascalon fell."
"T..t..titan?" Rurik stammered. "What?"
"Rurik, go" the necromancer said, "I will lead this beast toward
the Nolani gates, meet me there, if I do not live,do not fight it, it
is too powerful."
"Why?" Rurik asked, whom could barely stand and used his sword to lay
his weight against. "No."
Daldrath pointed his weapon toward the prince and replied in anger,
"Because Adelbern loves you and not a Krytan like me, Rurik, he would have
my head slain knowing I could not live to protect you from your
downfall. Now go!" The words shook Rurik as he stood up and began to run
toward the other direction, and said to himself, "May the gods know that a
Krytan fought in the name of Ascalon."
Just as the prince was out of sight, a huge and monstrous figure
stepped from a hill, walking on four legs, and bore claws that snapped in
anticipation. Its body was ablaze with flame as it searched for its next
victim, and laid its tiny eyes on the Necromancer, who stood in a
stance.
"I've only heard of you through legend. Its unbelievable that they were
true." He smiled with glee. He began to run toward the titan, and the
battle began."
Friday February 24, 2006 - Entry 1: The Arrow Caller
The Ranger ran as fast as he could, with the beast-like Charr running
close behind him, drooling for their next feast. He tried every attempt
to escape them. But all he could do to slow them down was constantly
turn in a random direction, while the Charr have to rouse to a stop to
follow him once again.
"Me and my ideas" he muttered under his breath. In his right hand,
he held a beautiful and magical glowing bow, the string was the same
texture as the weapon itself. And in his other hand, he held a long and
thin arrow with feathers sticking out from the end, they were a crimson
red. "This is the last time I'm going on scouting."
He could make out the speck that was the exit from the Breach, one of
the many bases of the Charr, and where he had to guide a group of lost
merchants to Piken Square. He looked behind him and squeaked as he saw
one of the beasts about to grab him by his robes. As he ran, he planted
his arrow and held it close, and just as the Charr touched him, he
whirled around and shot it square in the eye. It fell and yelped in pain.
The others caught up to it and stopped near it. This was the Ranger's
plan all along, even though he knew what he would see would probaly be
the most gruesome thing in his life.
The brothers of the hurt Charr looked at it and jumped on it, and began
to gnaw on the flesh of their fallen comrade. He heard the final yelps
of the creature and felt sorry for it, but thought it was best not to
stop and give a prayer and that maybe he should run.
He could make out the bridge that hung above the river and gave a sigh
of relief. He was about to make it, but he would have to travese across
a hill, and unforunately, was scattered with the foul beasts. He
stopped and cursed under his breath and hoped there was another path up the
bridge. He cursed again, but against the fool who put a bridge without a
way to get to it. He sat down, and began to focus on a mental image of
a ghostly and transparent figure, its thin arms sprouting from its
shoulders with blades at the end. And the head was horned, and the legs
were backed up. He opened his eyes and spotted the figure, which was only
a distance away from him.
He smiled with glee, if it wasn't for his guilds teaching him how to
recite the incantation to bring up spirits from the very depth of Nature
itself, he would be the dinner for the Charr. He got up and took
several arrows from his quiver, and pulled back his bow, he took his leg back
and let them fly. They dropped like rain over the charr, some sticking
into the skin of the beasts and some bringing them to their knees. He
waited untill he could see them stampeding toward him, he grinned as
they got closer and closer. They were only a few, but they carried blades,
and bore armor that surpisingly fit them. As they approached, he
laughed as one fell, and another. They all began to fall into a pit, where
spikes lay at the bottom. He always loved the effectiveness of the
spirits of nature, always helped him speeden up the process of setting up
traps around with heaps of quickness.
He crept near the spirit and touched it with it, and for a moment, felt
confident again. He let go of the spirit, and proceeded to walk up the
horizontal hill, making sure to sneak past the Charr by going around
rocks. He almost made it to the top of the hill when he heard a growl
from behind him, it was loud and he knew for sure it was the general. He
turned and was face-to-face with it, it was indeed the general, it was
bigger then him even though it hunched. And the smell of its horrible
breath almost made the ranger want to puke, but he could not allow
himself to be thrown off-guard.
"Ni' weather, eh?" He spoke aloud and hit the Charr with the tip of his
bow. The force was unexpected and sent the huge creature on its back.
The man turned around and ran up to the bridge, without turning back. He
spotted the Ascalon Guard, who spotted him as well.
"And here I thought you were dead," the guard taunted the masked Ranger.
"Yeah, about that, I have a couple of friends following me, can you
handle them?" The Ranger ran past the guard, and turned around fast and
pointed toward the gate and continued running.
The guard turned to look at what was coming and screamed as he was
caught by the head by the general and thrown on to the ground. It jumped on
him before he could let out another yell and he was gone for good.
The Ranger pulled down his mask, which held a smile, "Never doubt a
Ranger."
