Will there be a monthly fee?

No, the game will not have a monthly fee and there are no strings attached. Guild Wars will release an expansion pack every 6 to 9 months in order to have a steady flow of revenue. Players will not need the expansion to continue playing, but they will not be able to use the additional features unless they purchase the expansion.

This marketing strat needs to be supported so that other games will follow their lead. This is something a lot of people have said they wanted and now is time to prove it. GW is a fun game that seems to made with gamers in mind. SUPPORT THEM

No monthly fees will be added...ever. Expansion packs will be released every 6 or so months with just as much content as the original release has. You dont need to buy the expansion to play and you will be able to play with those who have them even if you dont. If each expansion is about 30-40 dollars which amounts to 60-80 a year. Most mmorpgs are about 12 a month which makes 144. So its less that half.

Just Like Blizzards Battle.net also made by the people who created arena.net the games expansion packs will create a steady flow of money for the servers and once the server is up the server is perfected and left alone and each expansion pack will add on to the servers. They will perfect the server with small changes every now and then but that doesnt cost alot. Basically the Expasion packs are their money makers Better than monthly atleast im getting something out of the expansion pack instead of paying 15 bucks a month for the same game over and over.

The backing corporation for this project is a leader in the industry which means they have money. Im guessing that they are relying heavily on the free factor to make most of the cash. More customers with no monthly fee less customers for other MMORPGs and hence the compeditors will get less . Plus the ex packs will be so chock-full of new stuff no one will want to pass them up.

Just in case because three quarters of you havent realised this is NOT an MMORPG. Its a CORPG in the style of Diablo 2 with most of the game instanced.

Well i got a new computer so i had to wonder guild wars or the old standby diablo2 I considered the expansions... the ripoff of not paying extra... and decided to go with diablo2. Plus i can use the cd keys to harass people with bots. What could be better

Dude the guys that made it are LEGENDS. This is the best thing thats happened in PC gaming for quite a while and like they say this game does take skill to do well in both co-op and PvP. Even people on higher levels than me seem to die really easily in co-op missions and PvP arenas which is encouraging _. Anyway there are WAY more than 3 places in the game you just have to get 2 professionsclasses and do a particular quest from Sir Tydus and you will be taken to the real game youre talking about the tutorial area of sorts. The normal game is MASSIVE just massive and it will obviously expand even more when they bring out expansions Of course you know this by now but this is just to clear that up for others.

Even in pre-Searing the nice lush world you start off in...theres more than 5 towns to visit. Lots of things to do even beat on some level 8 Charr lying in wait behind the Northern Gate ...Anyway Im in love with this game. Although it would be great if they added an assassin-type classskill set for future character. More armor too everybody starts to look the same really quickly.

Guyz I finished al missions in GW I have my own guild with plenty of members and This game is greatcant wait for the expansion to come out .... sayin tha there are alot of things I would change ... but it works well D

Yeah i beat the main missions in GW too and it was a beep of a lot of fun...unfortunately once youre done there isnt much to do except the PVP tournament...and you hardly ever win so its kinda lame too. I cant wait for the expansion pack they might get rid of the only lameass flaw in the game - the level 20 cap. god i hate that.

ya... The level 20 cap is really annoying and after that you only get 1 skill point everytime you fill your experiance bar. Theres is one more thing i dont like..it is that you can only hold 8 skills i have so many skills i wolud like to use but theres to many to decide form. Other than those two things the game is AMAZINGDoes anyone know what month the the expansion pack is coming out in... I heard septemberAugust and January Oh ya I have put at least 200 hours into this game over the last 3 weeks

anyone know wot races you might be able to go on the expansions ive heard you can go dwarfs and white mantle. And that they are apparently goin to have more pvping in the expansions on missions.... will make it alot harder if we have to V then dam kik ass koreans when the beep is europe gonna win the hohs i think weve managed to win it like twice lol

and do any of u know a bit more about the underworld or the fissure world on there....i know how u get there but i want to know the actual prices of the armor thoughs of u who dont know the entrances r at the temple of ages and europe has to have the favor of the gods then u gotta kneel in front of either the underworld statue or the fissure statue. yes the expansion pack comes with more classes races and you can access morebetterand well..more ass kicking weaponsarmor. dont beleive me well i helped make this game expansion release guess-april 2006but it might get more features added in which youll have to wait longer.

I would really like a better trading system in Guild Wars. Although I think the changes should be made part of regular GW if they could at LEAST make it into the expansion then it would make the game economy much less tedious. 1. Not having to walk across the map to find the other person. How about the ability to type trade in the whisper area to instantly open up a trade box with the other online person no matter where they are 2. The ability to keep people from using regular chat to make trade requests. Perhaps a reporting system or something. 3 optional. The ability to place items in a market area for a 10-20 fee to sell.

OMG this expansion pack is amazin. I got it imported from japan i think ill be a warlock. If you want any more details on where to buy it just ask me and dont worry u can change the langauge to english and also visit the english districts so its basically the same and just think wot people will say when the see a warlock in ascolon city

iv plabeep this game for about 2-3 mounths and im already bored with it you do the same thing over and over again and once you get to those fire islands its basically impossible to get anywhere on the map players can onlt get to lvl 20 you do junk damage cant do anything by yourself and almost always other players always wander off bring alot of monsters to you and get you whole party killed

Dont complain cause your a noob. And the box said this isnt a game based on the leveling system and that confusing stuff. You want going over the same stuff over and over again than try WOW they have u kill little animals for the longest time boring anyone and everyone. I love this game so do all my friends. I have been playing it 7 months and im still as addicted to it as when it came out. PS I also think these guy are BSing over having the expansion that why they have yet to show a shred of evidence. Got to love idiot wanting to talk BS when there no real reason to. Im going to be on the bandwagon with everyone else when it comes out and buy it.

WoW costs 25 every 3 months which is quite good since we get patchs.. If guild wars expansions come out every 6 months not only are you paying 40 for it but itll eventually break the game itself.. Too many expansions means that alot of people will have different expansions so itll be all mumbo jumbo.. The game just plainly doesnt suck you into the game its free yes i tried it after a month i got bored. No instances etc and compare it to WoW..GW is copying it like beep its far too small as well compared to WoW good luck for it to over take WoW biggest mmorpg.ill probs get flames since this is a GW fan thing but GW sucks flaming off
