The Rebel Alliance and the pesky mercenaries are more resourceful then we once thought: they are in space and the Emperor demands that the situation is rectified. The Imperial Navy is looking for eager pilots to hop in the top of the line TIE Fighters, Bombers and Interceptors to deal with such scum appropriately.

No Star System is safe, even the Imperial friendly system of Naboo, so constant patrol is necessary. The Rebels need no more reinforcements on the ground: off to space with you to ensure this remains the case. Space sectors must remain in Imperial control: the Imperial Navy ensures this.
