Tatooine is a desert planet that may appear on initial inspection to be limited in what it has to offer. However, Tatooine holds a wealth of exploitable resources, such as minerals and exotic gases, for those with the dedication, skill and specialized equipment to harvest them.
The population of Tatooine is a mix of hard-working locals and a transient criminal element led by the Hutts. The Empire has a presence here, as do Rebel sympathizers. Since Tatooine is located at a nexus of several prominent hyperspace routes, the desert world is a common stopover for Outer Rim travelers. The mysterious B'omar Monastery, home to Jabba the Hutt, can be found in the outer reaches of Tatooine. This enormous structure shelters Jabba's army of henchmen, and vast stores of contraband. Those with a taste for criminal activity will find a treasure trove of quests here, as long as they stay on Jabba's "good side."
Fort Tusken, a long-forgotten military outpost can be found on Tatooine as well. The Fort was established by interplanetary settlers long ago, but was overrun by the hostile Sand People.

Area 1
The furthest Northwest corner of Tatooine is one of the most dangerous places for this 'starter' planet. The area is desolate. Few 'player cities' can be found there on most galaxies(servers). Creatures like Giant Sand Beetles,
Grizzled Dewbacks, and Dragonets populate this area where there has also been many sightings of Tuskens ranging far from their main base of
Fort Tusken. Tread with caution.
Area 2
The rest of the Northern portion of Tatooine is not safe from danger for new adventurers. Your potential enemies here range from level 11-26 so care is needed. As with most areas of Tatooine, you must always be on the lookout for the cohorts of the rival mobsters of Jabba and Valerian. Many are ranged and will take some effort to take down. Miles of empty dunes and rocky hills are there to traverse. Be sure to have a fast vehicle to get where you're going else you may find yourself asleep at the wheel when an opportunistic Desert Razorback or
Bonecracker Bantha knocks you from your mount.
Area 3
 | This area near the north is where you will find the city of Mos Espa. The home of the enigmatic trader Watto from Episode I, you will find quests and missions to keep you busy for a while in this small desert town. Around the town you can find the usual level 11-15 creatures and mobs such as Womp Rats, Scyks, and Bocatts. |
Area 4
This area is one of the most populated of the northern zones, and it holds more attractions. The cities of
Mos Entha, and
Mos Taike can be found here. When you're here, be sure to visit the
Old Mos Espa Arena Track, and to avoid the
Krayt Graveyard lest you be very brave (or a very high level). You can of course find
Krayt Dragons nearest the Graveyard, but the rest of the area is much safer in comparison with
Rontos, Squills, and Bandits.
Area 5
Areas 6, 7 & 9
These areas are grouped together due to the similarity of the creatures and their levels that you will find there. You will become rather familiar with the likes of Overkreetles, Rock Beetles,
Desert Eopies , and more. In area 7 is where you will find the
Lars' Homestead, the
Darklighter Compound, the city of
Anchorhead and the Capital of Tatooine;
Bestine. This is a great place for new players to find tons of quests and missions.
Areas 8
This is the starting area for all new players. Tons of creatures and mobs ranging from level 1-10 await you here. Expect to be hip deep in Kreetles, Rills,
Worrts, and various criminal types when you step out of the starter city of
Mos Eisley. Of course the city plays host to a few criminal-types too so be careful who you talk to. There are many quests here to help you get a feel for the game and how it's played.
