IRC Chats

I give up. I missed the IRC chats with and introductions with the CS - GMs. Am I crazy because everyone can read that stuff (language) that was being tossed around in the off topic GM chat on 9/11/05. GM Elaisu - saying "I read and speak both 1337 and |_|ß&|2-l_&&Ŧ". Is that something that you can put on a resume? This is scary. Guess I'm gonna have to go get an ....urban dictionary.

Rune's thoughts

"...Okay...So I just "read" through this thread...and all I have to say is... you are all very disturbed. /nod I like that in people though! "

"Rune" - I don't mind disturbed people because I too am one. I just need to know something about them first

Death Penalty Discussion

World war III started around here. My son thought that I meant a death penalty to apply when you were in a battle and you ran out of health points. That is not what I meant. Or maybe I misunderstood the discussion. I'll go back and look again.

Picture Discussion Revisited

Regarding last week's diary picture. "So what if there are no games sold to women" my son said. "They wouldn't lose much money". They like to look at the pictures so get over it, get over it. What I'd like to do to him would earn me the death penalty IRL.

Looky what I found.

Here are snippets of things (that I located) from an interview with Suzanne Freyjadis-Chuberka, who is the Conference Director for this year's Women's Game Conference

Geek Woman: Is there a message, or a mission that you feel strongly about with this conference that you want all the women gamers out there to know?

Suzanne Freyjadis-Chuberka: "My mission is to change the way the video game industry perceives itself. There is no reason for this to be simply toys for boys. There is adequate room for growth in the industry in all areas, not just game design, but also in ads and magazines. This is one reason that the Internet is an important source for information for women. When women are turned off by the ads or the magazines, they can find a place on the Internet where they feel comfortable." Suzanne Freyjadis-Chuberka: Yes. Game playing is for everyone. There is a system in place that may make the women who play games feel excluded or not wanted, but these women should know that there are a large number of women who play and many of the men are happy to have women play.

Suzanne Freyjadis-Chuberka: I think that the industry is finally starting to recognize the importance of women as a potential source of revenue. In order for the game industry to grow their business they will need to reach out to women who would play if they were aware of the products available to them.

And bottom-line, what happens when the "little women" aren't happy? Lots of lonely sofa beds and nights. Can't we all be friends?

Botting?

Botting? How gm's deal with it. This was an issue that was on the boards recently. What the devil is botting and how do you tell if it is a botting issue? Is somebody playing your game for you? Is that what they mean. If you had a character how could you determine that it was or wasn't a Bot? Or is it like "attack of a clone". Duh. What fun is that type of play?

Oath's Question

What's your favorite type of pie? I gotta go along with Glip - Pecan all the way. Pecan, pecan, pecan.

Ultar what am I missing? Does anyone read these thing's?

System Requirements

I have an AMD Athlon 3000+ processor and a GeForce 6600 GT video card. Is that enough?

Got to watch this guy trying to break 31 watermelons with his head. He broke 32 in 50 something seconds.
