Bards have been known to be happy go lucky instrument players that adore to tag along in adventures and entertain them in the process. Bards have been part of the Fantasy scenario since the beginning, mimicing the effects of great bands in RL.

Even with Bards being in the forefront of many roleplay realms, they have been somewhat of a problem when trying to incorporate them in Online Games. Many have tried to use Bards, and the like, to embelish their games but failed to grasp the core concept of the class. Bards are purely entertainers, they fiddle far better than they slash or bash. A bard would rather be found writting a new song, or using their own music to enhance group morality than to get in the dirty with foes.

Vanguard promises to pay special attention to the Bard class, and use them as they have always been meant to be... considering to Brad and Co. there maybe alot more to the bards than any other game has ever thought of.

With that in mind, there is a window of oppurtunity for all bards at heart to possibly have a great time playing Vanguard without feeling like they've been an after thought, or a patch class.

We don't beleive that this class will suffer the possiblity of being taken off the roster due to it's prestige and it's long history with MMORPGs. It would be foolish to make a high fantasy game without having bards.

What to expect from the Paladin Class

The bards haven't been spoken much about, but thing that will be certain, being in the Light Melee class they will be put in combat scenario's. However , there might be instances where it will be far more important for the bard to play his songs than to fight. Not a heavy armor wearer, and probably not a robe person, bards will most probably be running around in light leather and other exotic light armors.
