Mynxy Journal #5

"The following information, dialogue, rambling, whining and stupid points of view are only about me or from my point of view." - Mynxy

Bully Guy

I delved into the profile listings of someone posting on the boards. The posted comment bothered me to some degree. But while digging I came across this groups continued rants about previous interactions with another group

Everytime you even so much as breath in their general direction when they are in combat they yell and cry about not touching any of their kills, and if you dare attack any mids or albs they are attacking they scream "LEECHER!" Its hilarious

This was continued within a story about his group's doings against a group of girls. WELL BUDDY - BRING IT ON. I just finished my latest round of steroids today - I can pick up a sofa. So look out. (I'm learning how to talk trash) lol

Everquest

After writing so much and reading about this game - I finally bought it. Have not played yet but am planning to do so this weekend. Yippee, can hardly wait, looking forward to it. Got to keep son away from it, he has taken over my Guild Wars.

Scent Discussion

While I do appreciate that a man is wearing a scent, I do think that I might have an issue with a man wearing a peach scent. (This regarding a statement from the V:SoH boards last week). Although maybe depending on the circumstances I might revise that decision.

Return to the Death Penalty Discussion

Do I feel like an idiot or what? I voted for something that I really did not understand. If I have it right now when you die (after some hard fought battle) then the "death penalty" is enforced. I voted with the group that chose to:

"I'm glad to say that 46% of other gamers agreed with me regarding the game death penalty. LOSE A LEVEL AND EXPERIENCE POINTS. What would I do if most disagreed with me? Whine."

While what I have to say now is not quite a whine, it is close. I can only rely on my experience with the Ultima games from years ago. I remember that when you died you were brought back to life generally by a healer, LB or other such person. I really don't remember there being a level or experience point issue. There might have been but I just don't recall them. I was just glad to be alive and get back to work. I lost lives left and right in Dungeon Destard (could have been Hyoloth, Despise?) There was a reaper in a hidden room at a lower level that you had to kill/cross to get out. I guess this penalty would be a 21st century version of the same such action. At least you are alive.

Beta Observation

Waiting for an invitation to the Beta game is like waiting for a "perfectmatch" match to respond to an icebreaker. Check the email notification 4-8 times a day. Got a notification regarding the Vanguard beta. Heart beats quickly, must walk around a little. Sneak up to the message to find out that someone had logged a post asking about the likelihood of the game starting soon. (EXPLETIVE DELETED)

Weekly Discussion #13

Are you a PVPer?

Will you be joining a PVP server exclusively?

Let me answer succinctly Arnie NO. Not exclusively - maybe to hang around for a little

The Bard

Arnie wrote us a nice little blurb about the Bard. This character seems to have been ignored by many online games. People/players fail to use all of the given attributes of such folk. There was also a hint from Arnie addressing a consideration by Brad and Co. that there maybe a lot more to the bards than any other game has ever thought of.

This sounds cool. But, what else can they be used for? Quick fights, spies, snipers, etc. I'm kinda looking forward to that "exotic armor". Yeah, I would be singing and playing music but perhaps there might be some kind of contained hidden message. Like the underground railroad and their songs.
