18.4.10 What about a system where instead of receiving all your spells every 4 or 5 levels that you get 1 or 2 each level?




Speaking of getting more, smaller carrots more often... why not give new effects to spells and abilities as time progresses as well? I'm speaking of things beyond simple damage and nifty particles. For example, your first level ability starts out doing only damage, a few levels later, that same ability adds on a status effect, perhaps a few levels later it affects all entities that you are engaged in combat with. I'm not saying that all abilities should change as you level up, or you should not desire new spells as you level up, I'm simply suggesting more bonuses. - Bill W. Fisher, Lead Game Designer
