18.6.16 Have you discussed the fact that there could be multiple default UIs implemented, instead of just one? Perhaps one default for each class, customized specifically for their gameplay?




Yes, this has been discussed with the UI Team and designers. I've expressed that it would be great to have a theme for each race. I'd like a basic UI as default for minimalist, a one UI fits all, then race-specific (UI's that are very distinctive to each of their relative races) accessible through the options menu as a user-defined preference. However it hasn't been decided upon yet, since we're still early in development in regards to the UI, although we've been making excellent progress.

I also like the idea to have control over the UI opacity. I think we could come up with something intuitive in these regards, and I'm a huge fan of minimalism as a default option. There will be plenty of buttons at your immediate disposal to make accessing all the cool features much easier, and I'm working on ways to make buttons accessible without obstructing the games beautiful environment at the same time. Perhaps "toggled states" via a minimal and full UI state button, in the minimal state for instance. The gauges would be free-floating without a background window or frame, and the size may be 1/2 normal as well. Also both Jon and I are huge fans of Tooltips. We could use Tooltips to provide detailed inspection items.
