18.7.6 What do you think is the trend of offering in-game rewards for pre-ordering?

I think there could be a lot of cool stuff, in-game and out-of-game that could be awarded to people who pre-ordered, or who contributed above and beyond the call of duty to the game pre-launch, or to people migrating from another game to ours, etc....

But I also strongly believe these rewards cannot take the form of some sort of in-game advantage over other players. It would violate something I think is sacred in a sense: that which affect the status or abilities of characters in-game should be earned in-game. On a quick tangent, it's the same belief that is the reason behind my opposition to buying characters and items on an auction site: outside forces should not have an impacting effect on the in-game world lest the value placed on in-game accomplishments be interfered with, and those doing the earning diminished.
