played WoW again today, and I decided to tie up all my loose ends from yesterday. This involved far less deaths, and also a new gnome friend, a mage this time. This also was the biggest learning experience, even moreso than day 1.
I started my second adventure into WoW by trying to find my way out of Ironforge. This was increadibly hard, since when I came in I was following my first gnome friend. I was ready to ask for a divining rod, but I eventually found my way out. After doing so, I wandered around looking for an ore vein. Using my expert eyes, and with a LITTLE help from the Find Minerals skill, I found 3 closely placed viens that actually regenerated fast enough that I would be able to just complete them in a chain over and over. After failing at my first 3 attempts, I ended up managing to extract some copper. After completing all 3 veins, I was carrying too much stuff to continue. Taking my copper back to the town to smelt it into bars, I stumbled across the weirdest thing. A level 50 Snow Leopard. Scared out of my mind, I tried my best to walk around it. But to no avail. Fortunately, it turned out it was tamed, and that it belonged to the cat trainer.
Now, in the town, smelting my copper, I was interested in what I should do with it. After making copper bracers that sold for 7 copper, I took the rest and sold them all for 1 silver and 30 copper. Thats 10 copper a bar. I then made some grinding stones, which I sold for about 7 copper a piece. Asking my first gnome friend, who happened to have a 29 NE Rogue, what to do with the weird shadowgem I found while mining, he quickly responded "keep that, you will need it later," so I kept it. I used the money I made to buy me a little something something, a brand new pouch. Now, with my additional 6 slots of storage, I felt like I was on top of the world. I decided to do more mining, since this was putting me way up the ladder, so I grabbed my gear and headed off to find more ore. Around this time, the server screwed up, and I ended up running around with no spawning of anything, and for the most part the area was clean except for my ore spots.
After the server went down, and then got back up in a matter of seconds, I continued my mining. I ended up with 30 copper ore, 18 stones, and some malachite. This time, I turned the rocks into sharpening stones first, then bought recipes for smithing that I could use. Unfortunately for me, I had only copper bars, and to make myself that fancy new Copper Club, I needed linen, a weak flux that I actually did have at the time, and some other item which I cant remember. Happy with the fact that I could make NOTHING but copper pants, I made a bunch then sold them for less than I can get for the bars. They weren't actually good enough to use by me, or anyone over level 2, so there was really no other choice. I decided to turn in the quest items I had gained so far, and headed off to Steelgrill or whatever that place is called. Being the great navigator I am, it only took me 15 minutes and about 3 passes just outside of its boundries to find it.
Turning in the boar meat and bear pelts, I was rewarded with 2 silver and a 13 or so copper. He gave me another quest, which I took, but haven't actually done. I decided to try to find some new ore viens, and maybe some non-copper ones, so I headed into a cave full of wendigos. I met up with my new gnome friend here, who was killing wendigos with about 3 fire spells. We grouped up, and headed in. He was still collecting wendigo manes, and I was just looking for new copper viens. As we traveled deeper into the cold cave, we found that wendigos were way too easy. After tanking 5 at the same time, and NOT dieing, we wandered further in. Using my nose for ore viens, I tracked one down at the back of a small dead end. We also found a chest, which had 10 copper, and about 4 other items which I had no use for, besides selling and giving to my gnome friend. We decided to see whether or not there was a boss, and found an NE druid in the process. She was level 29, and was actually only doing around 70 damage, which I found somewhat weak since I can do up to 50 damage with holy strike. She followed us for a bit, and always seemed to swoop in right after we looted the wendigo corpse. After a while of this, she said "don't worry, I'm just skinning to level up my skill" so I left it at that.
After a few more wendigo kills, and a lag that was getting progressively worse, I asked the NE girl if she wanted to buy the light leather I had collected from random kills. I settled on 10 copper a piece, and sold her 4 pieces. This deal didn't go without its hitches though, since in the middle of the transaction I was attacked by 3 wendigos, and was unrested. This basicly means that by the time I got finished with the trade, I was almost dead. The gnome cast a spell though, and aggroed them all at once to him. Unable to play through the lag, I didn't manage to heal him, and he died. He had to go regardless, so we just added each other to our friends list. Minutes later, I died, and in that process the server once again went down, and then started up again.
Taking the short walk back to my corpse, I was quickly surrounded by wendigos. Without the mage's backup, I was slaughtered. This process of dieing while trying to get my body back went on for about 10 minutes, in which I believe I died 4 times. Greatful for my experience, I decided to never EVER EVER EVER EVER come back to this cave. On the trip out though, I found something that will probably have me coming back almost daily. After beating the wendigos to a pulp, I found something on the corpse of one that was worth 5 silver. A black pouch. I got an additional 6 storage spaces out of the deal, so I decided that death is fine as long as I get something out of it. Saying goodbye to my wendigo buds, who were sad to see me leave, I headed out to find some linen, and complete another Ice Troll Quest. Along the way I saw some Crag boars, one named an Elder Crag Boar. Being an animal lover, I couldn't keep myself from splitting it open and seeing what was inside. I found out that it was filled with a number of awesome prizes. Some diciples boots, boar meat and boar ribs, and a sword of some sort. After yesterday and my pretty much lootless experiences, this was a grand find.
Making sure to kill everything that even looked like a crag boar, I continued down the road. Knowing I had to leave soon, I decided to instead finish up my next level. So I continued my rampage of slaughter and death by killing the local animals. In a matter of about 30 seconds I was able to finish the level, which was actually mostly done to start with, so I logged out. With all that happened, I felt as if I really acomplished something.
